Getting kids to apply some sort of evaluation to research they find on the internet can be a challenge. It is even more so when the teacher does not build in enough time to do so. I understand that when a teacher has 3-4 days to produce something that can be graded, research skills often get thrown by the wayside. Janet Murray has created a chart to summarize some of the possible skills that kids need to practice and know. Getting kids to acutally use it is another matter….
