The Long Tail: The Probabilistic Age

Our school, among many others, is wrestling with the efficacy and authenticity of blogging and information found on the internet. Our current strategy is to mix research between internet resources and more traditional reference media.

Yet students are faced with the increasing demands of media and information overload. While an encyclopedia might have more specific, maybe more authoritative information, it certainly cannot compete with the breadth of the internet.

This is a great article detailing the differences and challenges of using information in this new ‘world’, one which students must face in school’s today.
